Family Cooking Classes

In 2019, we carried out cooking classes for families.

During 10 afternoons and evenings, parents and children cooked together with chefs from Copenhagen Hospitality College.

In 2020 we continue the work in Restaurant Virketrang

The purpose of the cooking classes were to increase and support the families' health and well-being, to build food literacy and to strengthen relationships between children and parents and between Tingbjerg residents.

During the cooking classes, families learned about health, taste, seasonal ingredients and cooking techniques.

The cooking classes draws on experiences from workshops and pilot courses in 2018. Here the participants expressed a desire for food education for parents and children together.

The cooking classes for families are developed in close collaboration between Copenhagen Hospitality College, the Social Housing Associations and Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen.
